Tropical Auto Group ("TAG") is committed to responsible privacy practices and to complying with the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act (Cth).  Except where the information that TAG holds is exempt under the Privacy Act (such as employee information contained in TAG's employment records) individuals may access the personal information which TAG holds about them.  Generally TAG holds personal information about its customers for the purpose of notifying them about field service action, for example, recalls, and scheduled servicing, and for customers to obtain warranties or requested additional services from TAG.

In general terms the major recipients of information that would be used in these instances would be TAG's' Motor Vehicle franchisors who are responsible for the bulk of such action satisfaction eg. Vehicle warranty, recalls etc.

TAG also collects information in the processing of applications for the supply of finance and other vehicle aftermarket applications, insurance with various finance houses, insurers and ancillary suppliers.

In the event where personal details are required to be approved in accordance with our Privacy Policy then the completion of a Privacy Statement (Appendix A to this policy) will be required from the client.

TAG'S Internet Services

To use TAG's Internet Services, such as parts order forms, literature requests, etc., we may require a certain amount of personally identifying information (examples are: name, vehicle identification number, address, business name, etc.) that we can use to meet your request.  We use this information to identify and access data in the existing relationship we have with you to provide you with the requested services.  We request electronic mail addresses (email) as an alternate means of contacting you.


Electronic mail sent to us that contains personal information

Internet users may decide to send TAG personally identifying information, for example, in a message containing information about your TAG product or service.  TAG will only use this information to identify the user as a TAG customer and to determine how to respond to the electronic mail.  We will not use this information other than to resolve the matter identified in the email.

We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy.  A revised Privacy Policy will only apply to data collected subsequent to its effective date.  Any revisions will be posted at least 10 days prior to its effective date.
